Skirting boards and trim

Skirting boards and trim

Products to start with:

Polystyrene and polyurethane trim is fixed with the water-based ALL DECOR acrylics: they do not attack foam, grab a part in 4–5 seconds and take paint together with it. The adhesive filler also fills the joints between parts and the gap to an uneven wall.

Interior use only; the substrate must be dry and sound, primed if needed.

Heavy parts

Heavy parts

Products to start with:

Window sills, natural stone slabs, 3D letters and boxes are held by the MS polymer adhesive sealants: FS-300 gives 300 kg/m² right after pressing and does not sag under a heavy part, FS-150 gives 150 kg/m² for regular mounting. Both bond damp materials and work from −20 °C.

PTFE, polyethylene and polypropylene are not suitable; prime weak substrates and support large parts until cured.

Wall panels

Wall panels

Products to start with:

PVC, MDF, chipboard and gypsum panels are fixed to plasterboard, plaster, brick or concrete walls with the SilaFix acrylics: FS-100 with 100 kg/m² for dense and heavy panels, FS-50 as the basic universal choice. Both are solvent-free with an elastic, paintable joint.

Application from +15 °C on a dry substrate; no more than 10 minutes between application and fixing.

Mirrors and glass

Mirrors and glass

Products to start with:

Mirrors and mirror tiles are fixed to concrete, brick, plaster, tiles, wood, plasterboard and glass with the MS polymer formulations FS-150 and FS-300: no solvents that damage the backing, grab in 4–5 seconds and repositioning for up to 30 minutes.

Apply the adhesive in vertical strips so that air can circulate behind the mirror; support heavy mirrors until cured.

Exterior mounting

Exterior mounting

Products to start with:

Signs, boxes and letters on façades, thresholds and exterior abutments are held by the MS polymer FS-300 and FS-150: weather- and UV-resistant, working from −20 °C and keeping the joint from −40 to +120 °C. Rubber-based FS-200 suits exterior mounting of dense materials when instant grab and a clear joint are needed.

Acrylic formulations are used outdoors where the joint is not in permanent contact with water.

Joints and abutments

Joints and abutments

Products to start with:

Joints, cracks and abutments of window and door frames, gaps in bathrooms and kitchens are filled with the acrylic sealant: it prevents mould, takes paint and has no odour. One cartridge covers 14–15 metres of a 5 mm joint.

If the joint moves or must also be bonded, FS-150 and FS-300 work as adhesive sealants.
