Acrylic construction adhesives
SILAFIX FS-50, SILAFIX FS-75, SILAFIX FS-100, SilaFix Universal
Surface preparation
The substrate must be clean, dry and sound: moisture up to 8 %, free of dust, grease and flaking paint. Prime loose and highly absorbent surfaces. Work at +15 °C or above and 40–60 % air humidity — the same conditions apply for the next 24 hours while the adhesive cures.
Application and fixing
Cut the cartridge nozzle at an angle and apply the adhesive to the part in dots, strips or a zigzag: a 6 mm bead covers 14 metres. Place the part within 10 minutes and press for 4–5 seconds — after that it holds on its own. Clear FS-75 differs: let the adhesive dry for 5–6 minutes before pressing. Support large and heavy parts while the adhesive cures.
Curing and cleaning
Full strength after 24 hours; the joint can then be sanded and painted. Fresh excess and tools wash off with water; dried adhesive is removed mechanically. The joint must not be in permanent contact with water. Store the cartridge at +5 to +20 °C with the nozzle tightly closed.
MS polymer formulations
SILAFIX FS-150, SILAFIX FS-300
Surface preparation
The substrate must be clean and sound; it may be damp, as the formulation bonds damp materials. Reinforce weak mineral substrates with a primer. PTFE, polyethylene and polypropylene are not suitable. Temperature during application and for the next 24 hours not below −20 °C, air humidity at least 40 %.
Application and fixing
Apply the adhesive to the part in strips or dots; FS-300 is thicker than FS-150 and takes more effort on the gun. Place the part and press for 4–5 seconds — after that it holds on its own. Reposition within 30 minutes. Support large parts until fully cured.
Curing and cleaning
Full cure after 24 hours; the joint can then be sanded and painted. Clean tools with white spirit right after work; dried residue can only be removed mechanically. The cured joint works from −40 to +120 °C.
Rubber construction adhesive
SILAFIX FS-200
Surface preparation
Clean, degrease and dry both substrates. Do not use the adhesive on expanded polystyrene or foam — the solvent destroys the material. Work at +15 to +30 °C in a ventilated room, away from sources of ignition, wearing gloves.
Application and fixing
Apply the adhesive in dots or strips and join the surfaces. Then separate them, wait 1–3 minutes and join again, pressing firmly — this is the contact method that gives instant grab up to 200 kg/m².
Curing and cleaning
Drying time 10–15 minutes; the joint takes full load after 3–5 days. The cured joint is clear, water-resistant and works from −20 to +60 °C. Store the cartridge at +5 to +27 °C in a dry ventilated place; do not freeze.
Adhesives for decorative trim
Decor adhesive, Adhesive filler, Adhesive filler in buckets
Surface preparation
The substrate must be clean, dry (moisture up to 8 %) and sound; prime loose and weak surfaces. Interior use only. Temperature during application and for the next 24 hours not below +12 °C for the decor adhesive and not below +15 °C for the adhesive filler.
Application and fixing
Apply the adhesive to the part in a strip or dots; with the adhesive filler, fill joints and gaps with the same formulation and smooth with a spatula. Place the part within 10 minutes and press for 4–5 seconds. Support large parts while the adhesive cures. The formulation is solvent-free and does not attack foam.
Curing and cleaning
After 24 hours the joint is sanded flush and painted together with the trim. Fresh excess and tools wash off with water. Store at +5 to +20 °C.
Acrylic sealant
Acrylic sealant
Surface preparation
The surface must be dry, sound and clean. Degrease glass and metal, prime highly porous substrates. Application temperature +12 to +30 °C.
Application and fixing
Cut the nozzle to the joint size and apply the sealant as a continuous bead into the gap or joint. One cartridge covers 14–15 metres of a 5 mm joint.
Curing and cleaning
Smooth the joint with a spatula and remove excess with a damp cloth before it dries. After curing the joint is elastic, water-resistant and paintable. Store the cartridge at +5 to +30 °C.
