Before you start
Expanded polystyrene and foam trim must not be glued with solvent-based formulations: rubber-based FS-200 and similar liquid nails dissolve the material and the part sags. Trim needs water-based acrylics — which is why PROКЛЕЙ keeps the ALL DECOR range separate from the SilaFix construction adhesives.
The range has two formulations on the same base. The decor adhesive has a regular consistency and is made for bonding. The adhesive filler has a higher share of marble filler: it is thicker, hard after curing, sands flush and fills what a regular adhesive would leave empty.
Procedure
If the wall is even and the joints between parts are neat, use the decor adhesive: apply a strip on the back of the part, place it within 10 minutes and press for 4–5 seconds. The joint is painted together with the trim after 24 hours.
If there is a gap between the moulding and the wall and the joints need filling, use the adhesive filler: bond the part with the same formulation, fill the joints and gaps and remove excess with a spatula. After curing, sand and paint — no separate filler is needed. For large volumes the same filler comes in 1 and 4 kg buckets for spatula application.
What to watch for
Both formulations are for interior use only. The decor adhesive is applied from +12 °C, the adhesive filler from +15 °C, with substrate moisture up to 8 %. Support heavy cornices and rosettes until cured: the 4–5 second grab holds the part, but full strength takes a day.
If gypsum or polyurethane trim is heavy and large, consider FS-150: the solvent-free MS polymer is also safe for foam and holds 150 kg/m².
